Bosco: La Sombra Extraviada Bajo la Luna de Plata
Bosco: The Lost Shadow Beneath the Silver Moon
For Bosco, the line between reality and hallucination begins to blur as he struggles to solve the case of the late Joan Sebastian Lobato while trying to hold on to his sanity.
Festival note by Alejandro Yamgotchian
The journalist of the title embarks on an investigation whose supposedly peaceful context will bring several surprises. A mix of film noir, beatnik touches and very funny ideas; a thriller with plenty of cinephilia behind it, made by two very young filmmakers, and featuring a remarkable performance by its lead actor, Diego Robleda. "As Mexicans, unfortunately we feel that cinema in our country tends to lean toward opposite extremes: on one side, romantic comedies made only to make money, and on the other, artistic films with a deep social and political background. With this film, we seek a balance with a classic of art cinema that both cinephiles and general audiences can enjoy. We seek a mixture of shots and cinematic styles, as well as a good dose of comedy and adventure. Because for us, that is what a great film is about," commented the film's two directors.
