PANCHOPALOOZA
A socially awkward loser is blackmailed by the police and helped by a friendly drone. A contract killer on a mission finds a mysterious travel companion. Two small-time criminals get their hands on a futuristic weapon. They all converge on a legendary party known as “Panchopalooza,” thrown by an eccentric drug lord named Pancho, and find themselves caught up in an ancient, epic battle.

The festival first discovered them back in 2007 (our second edition), where they swept the short film awards with Extra, Extra. From Mervel Films, “an independent production company with over 20 years of dark comedies and strange short films,” came more works that passed through various festival editions. Here they make their feature debut — an action comedy laced with science fiction, their trademark humorous and bizarre touch very much intact, and the impressive special effects work that has always set them apart.
