Three stories drawn from Chilean folklore, bound by a compelling through-line, that rise to the challenge of disturbing — without sensationalism — through explicit terror, with solid cinematography that draws full advantage from the lush forests of southern Chile, backed by strong performances. The result is a feature in the best tradition of Hammer, Amicus, and the more recent Tales from the Crypt — spirits, possessions, monsters and ghosts, all south of the border.
